Entrepreneurship is a Prison
In this fast-paced world, everyone wants to become self-employed and be their own boss, but they ignore the factor of how hard and challenging that is. How would they get to know? Social media makes it look nicer with all these posts on quotes, supercars, and planes. This concept of instant gratification and overnight success makes us believe entrepreneurship is child's play, but trust me, it's not.
Reality of Entrepreneurship
In my vast experience of entrepreneurship, I want to reveal the reality of what social media makes it look like, which is absolutely not the case. It's lonely, it's terrifying. Yes, it is.... Why is a prisoner sent to prison? Because they did something unlawful, and then they are punished by being isolated in the prison, all alone.
"Entrepreneurship is a Prison"
Yes, you read it right. The punishment of starting an entrepreneurial journey is similar to being in prison. You try to escape from the matrix, and as punishment, you find yourself isolated from everyone – your family, close friends, and even yourself. There will come a time when you start questioning your abilities. Loneliness, anxiety, sleepless nights, missing out on parties, not enjoying life like others, being separated from everyone in this world – you are on your own. The thought of quitting may cross your mind again and again. Even I have thought of quitting almost daily, but one thing prevents me from doing so – a question: 'Why did I start?'
Perseverance: The unseen Hero of Entrepreneurial Success
The only driving force that keeps me disciplined is perseverance. If you have come this far and want to quit, then why did you bother to start? With the passage of time, you realize that it is a test of endurance, willpower, and mental fortitude. It teaches us that success is not guaranteed, and setbacks are a part of the process. It reminds us that even when things get tough, we have the capacity to push through and reach our goal.
